Important Shipping Update for Our U.S. Customers

Hello everybody, this is the latest update that we have.
There seems to be somewhat good news. The Royal Mail in the UK has now set up a way of collecting the tariff amount at the point of purchasing postage labels. This has confirmed that there doesn’t appear to be an $80 flat rate and that it is a 10% increase on all purchases going to the US from the UK.
However, since the Royal Mail introducing the new tariff collection, it has now come out that there seems to be some legal issues concerning the tariffs and their legality. This could potentially cause further issues depending on how the rulings go.
We were hoping to carry on business as mostly normal, but we fear that if we start taking orders from our American customers; with the delivery times being around 2 weeks, that depending on how the legality decisions conclude, this may disrupt the packages that are are in the postal network which could result in items being delayed or lost.
We hope you can understand our decision. It is a very frustrating time for all of us, but our priority is to try and minimize any disruption to our customers as much as possible.

Information is still a little bit patchy but on preliminary investigation it seems that the flat rate $80 tariff is only affecting postal services and not Courier services. So with that in mind we are looking into courier services and which one offers the best value for money for our customers. Please keep checking here for updates and we will add new information as and when we have it.

If you’re considering ordering from The Jongleurs Dream from the U.S., there’s an important update we want you to know about.
New U.S. Import Rules
As of August 29, 2025, the U.S. government has removed the “de minimis” exemption, which previously allowed packages under $800 to enter duty-free. This means all international shipments may now be subject to customs fees.
For our plush toys, this could result in an additional fee of approximately $80 upon delivery. This applies to shipments via UPS, DPD, and other courier services.
Our Plan
At the moment, it appears no one really knows what’s going to happen. If we could we would suspend shipping to the U.S until we get clear information. However Etsy won’t allow that on the UK platform.
So for now we are adding a shipping profile which will add $80 (tariff) + $30 (postage) to all US orders. This additional charge should show up before purchasing.
Our advice is to wait until the landscape stabilizes, and we know what we are dealing with.

We want to be completely transparent so there are no surprises at delivery. Our goal is to make your experience with our shop as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Obviously this is very upsetting and frustrating for us and you. This is out of our control, and all we can do is wait and see what happens.
